Faasend in Landsweiler — a young tradition

The Faasendumzug Lebach-Landsweiler is relatively young compared to many other Saarland carnival parades — the first edition took place in 2012. But in the thirteen years since, the parade has developed into a real highlight of the Faasend calendar in the Lebach region. Organised by the SG Lebach-Landsweiler (Sportgemeinschaft), the parade takes place on Faasendsamstag — February 14th in 2026 — through the Landsweiler district of Lebach.

Start at 3:11 PM — a festive time

As befits a Saarland Faasend, the parade doesn't start at a "normal" time, but at 3:11 PM — eleven is the magic number in carnival. The meeting point for floats, guards, and groups is the Sägewerk on the outskirts of Landsweiler. From there, the parade moves through the main streets of the district towards the Stangenwaldhalle, the club centre of SG Lebach-Landsweiler.

The carnival atmosphere

As with many Saarland Faasendumzügen, the atmosphere is warm, rural, and club-oriented. Floats from Lebach, Landsweiler, and the surrounding districts, guards with elaborately costumed dancers, fanfare groups, schools, local carnival clubs — everyone participates. Confetti, Gudzja (carnival sweets), beer, and Schwenker (grilled sausages) are all part of it. "Helau!" cheers resound, some floats with political-satirical notes on current topics.

After-party in the Stangenwaldhalle

After the parade, the celebration moves to the Stangenwaldhalle. The big Faasend party takes place there — live band, dance groups, DJ, carnival hits. The party goes on late into the night. The hall isn't huge, which makes the atmosphere even more intimate.

Lebach in the Saarlouis district

Lebach is a medium-sized town in the Saarlouis district, in western Saarland, with about 19,000 inhabitants. The district of Landsweiler is one of the areas with its own strong club life. SG Lebach-Landsweiler is an important player here — not just in sports, but also in carnival. Anyone who wants to experience the real club life of Saarland is in the right place here: not a mass event like Cologne Carnival, but a genuine village culture with all families, all generations, and an atmosphere that exists in this form only in such communities.
