City Run along the Rhine Promenade

The Ludwigshafen City Run utilizes the attractive route along the Rhine promenade. From the start and finish area at Zollhof and the Alte Werfthalle, the course leads along the promenade and through adjacent neighborhoods. The flat course design also makes the run attractive for less experienced fun run participants.

Distances for All Age Groups

The program covers all age groups and is consistently designed as a family and amateur sports event. The Bambini run (650 meters) appeals to the youngest participants, the school run (1.4 kilometers) to children of primary and middle school age, and the youth run (2.3 kilometers) to teenagers. The GAG Starter Run is aimed at beginners and is designed as an inclusion run, explicitly inviting people with disabilities. The fun run (6.5 kilometers) is the main race for ambitious amateur runners.

27th Edition

With its 27th edition, the City Run is one of Ludwigshafen's established sporting events. The organizer is the initiative LU läuft, which is committed to promoting amateur sports in the city. Timing and registration are handled by the specialized company br-timing.

Part of the Rhine Promenade Festival

The City Run takes place as part of the Rhine Promenade Festival, which runs from June 25 to 28, 2026. This connection creates a special festive atmosphere around the run: spectators, family, and friends of the runners are already at the Rhine promenade enjoying the supporting program.

Registration is open until Monday, June 22, 2026, via the platform www.br-timing.de. Late registrations may be possible on the day of the event, depending on availability. Entry fees vary depending on the distance and age group.
