Spring Festival with Plant Market and Educational Program on Beetzsee
The ErnährungsCampus Kirchmöser is a premiere: in 2026, the Kleingartenverein Bergfrieden e.V. (Allotment Garden Association) is hosting a full-day spring festival for the first time, combining a garden market and education. The venue is the idyllic Kirchmöser district, a peninsula between Beetzsee and Wusterwitzer See in the west of the independent city of Brandenburg an der Havel. The idea: to bring together knowledge, plants, and good conversations for one day a year – as a "campus" for everyone interested in sustainable nutrition and gardening.
The focus is on the plant market: regional gardeners and hobby plant enthusiasts sell seedlings, seeds, and perennials – with a special emphasis on rare plants and old varieties. Anyone who has ever been looking for a forgotten tomato variety or a special type of pumpkin will find it here. Exhibitors provide cultivation tips directly at their stands.
An educational program structures the day with short lectures on topics such as:
The event location is noteworthy: the Radieschen-Bar of the Kleingartenverein Bergfrieden at Wusterwitzer Straße 71. The clubhouse has borne its charming name for years and is a lively meeting point in the district. It is located directly on the water of the Beetzsee and is easily accessible by car and bicycle.
Kirchmöser is a district of Brandenburg an der Havel and has been a insider tip for nature lovers from the Berlin area for years. Its peninsular location between Beetzsee and Wusterwitzer See, the old railway settlement, and its proximity to the major city festivals of the Havel city make the district a world of its own – the ErnährungsCampus fits perfectly here.
The ErnährungsCampus 2026 is the premiere of this format. On Saturday, May 9, 2026, the KGV Bergfrieden e.V. opens its grounds at Wusterwitzer Straße 71 for a full-day spring festival.
On the program: a plant market with regional gardeners, lectures on pollinators, bee-friendly gardening, and rare plants, as well as tasting samples from Brandenburg direct marketers. Admission is free; donations for the association's upkeep are welcome.
The idea for the campus arose from the association's desire to share its gardening knowledge and facilitate encounters between hobby gardeners and professionals. If successful, it is planned to be repeated as an annual event.
