The Concert
»En Français« brings together two Neubrandenburg choirs — the Philharmonischer Chor Neubrandenburg e.V. and the Kantorei St. Johannis Neubrandenburg — for a joint evening of French choral music. The program features works from the rich French choral repertoire from the Baroque to the modern era (Fauré, Duruflé, Poulenc, Debussy, and contemporaries are usually part of the core canon of such programs).
The Johanniskirche
The Johanniskirche Neubrandenburg is located on Stargarder Straße in the historic old town. Alongside the Konzertkirche (formerly Marienkirche), it is Neubrandenburg's second major sacred concert venue and is under the patronage of the Kantorei St. Johannis, an active ensemble for sophisticated choral programs.
The Philharmonischer Chor Neubrandenburg
The Philharmonischer Chor Neubrandenburg e.V. is a partner choir of the Neubrandenburger Philharmonie and the TOG (Theater und Orchester GmbH Neubrandenburg/Neustrelitz). The choir regularly participates in major symphony concerts (including Beethoven's 9th, Mahler's 2nd) and organizes its own choral programs — from the Spring Sing to »En Français« to the Christmas Sing.
