Winter Sister of Airbeat One

The Electric Sea Festival was launched in 2018 as a winter indoor offshoot of the Airbeat One Festival. The organizer is I-Motion / Airbeat One Festival GmbH, which also organizes North Germany's largest open-air electronic festival, Airbeat One. Electric Sea brings the festival feeling into the cold season – annually in the HanseMesse Rostock since 2018.

HanseMesse Rostock

The HanseMesse in the Schmarl district has several halls that are converted into different stages for the festival. A main stage (Main Floor) forms the center, complemented by additional floors with distinct electronic genres – from House and Techno to Trance and Hardstyle. Around 1,332 parking spaces are available at the venue.

Show and Atmosphere

What sets Electric Sea apart is its open-air look in an indoor format: state-of-the-art lighting technology, large LED walls, laser and pyro shows, confetti rain, and powerful CO₂ cannons create a midsummer atmosphere in the middle of winter. Doors traditionally open at 7 PM, ending around 5 AM.

VIP Area

For those who prefer exclusivity, VIP tickets can be purchased – these offer access to a VIP stage directly on the Main Floor and separate bar areas.

Regional Context

The Hanseatic city of Rostock in the Rostock district (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) is, alongside Hamburg, the most important hub for electronic music on the German Baltic Sea coast. Electric Sea complements the summer classics Airbeat One and High Seaciety with a high-quality winter experience, making the HanseMesse the largest dance floor in the region in early December.
