Comic, Manga, and Cosplay Convention in the IGA Park
Comic Park Rostock will take place for the first time in the Hanseatic city in 2026, adding a North German location to the comic park series. The event is organized by the team behind the established Comicpark Erfurt, which is bringing its convention directly to the Baltic Sea coast for the first time with its premiere in the IGA Park Rostock on August 29 and 30, 2026.
On both days, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the festival meadow in the IGA Park will be transformed into a colorful paradise for comic, manga, and cosplay fans. The program includes artist booths with illustrators, dealers selling comics, manga, and merchandise, cosplay walking acts, shows on the main stage, and workshops on drawing techniques and costume design. An anime cinema will screen selected films; meet-and-greet events with favorite characters round off the offering.
Cosplayers are explicitly considered part of the festival experience – the convention offers a stage for elaborate costumes, competitions, and photo opportunities among the trees of the IGA Park. Children's and family programs are an integral part of the event.
The IGA Park Rostock in the Schmarl district has been one of the most important open-air venues in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern since the International Garden Exhibition in 2003. Located directly on the water, the area welcomes around 150,000 concert and festival visitors annually. Comic Park is part of a summer season that will feature Sarah Connor, David Garrett, Marteria, AnnenMayKantereit, and Feine Sahne Fischfilet on the festival meadow in 2026.
