Season opener of the major Baden wine festivals with 120+ wine specialities from Durbach vineyards
The Durbach Wine Festival has been an institution of Baden wine culture since the 1960s. With its 64th edition on June 5th, 6th, and 7th, 2026, the festival traditionally heralds the season of major wine festivals in the Baden region — from Durbach to Ortenberg, Sasbachwalden, Lahr, and Endingen, a dense series follows from June to September.
Durbach is one of Germany's best-known wine villages — with vineyards such as Plauelrain, Schloß Staufenberg, and Schloss Grohl, which produce excellent Rieslings, Pinot Noirs, Klingelberger (a variety of Riesling), and Pinot Blancs. Over 120 wine and sparkling wine specialities will be served during the festival weekend — from the five Durbach Black Forest wineries and the Durbach winegrowers' cooperative, one of the oldest and largest winegrowers' cooperatives in Southern Germany.
The wine village is the gastronomic centrepiece — stands from individual wineries and the winegrowers' cooperative are loosely arranged at the Durbach festival grounds. Accompanying dishes from Durbach gastronomy: Swabian and Baden specialities — Maultaschen, Flammkuchen, Käsespätzle, Schwarzwälder Schinken, Brägele (fried potato slices), Riesling-Saumagen, and vegetarian options. Sweets from the Durbach rural women's section.
Opening on Friday, June 5th, 2026, at 7:30 PM with a wine-historical parade from the Durbach winegrowers' cooperative to the festival grounds. At 8:00 PM, the new Durbach Wine Princess will open the festival, accompanied musically by the Trachtenkapelle Durbach and Bow Tie Willi. Saturday evening live concert with TOM & ANDY starting at 9:00 PM. Sunday at 3:00 PM, coffee and cake by the Durbach rural women, followed by an interactive concert for children with "Unikat" at 4:30 PM and the award ceremony for the children's drawing competition.
Durbach is located in the Ortenau district in Baden-Württemberg, on the edge of the Black Forest. The municipality with around 4,000 inhabitants is easily accessible via the A 5 (Frankfurt–Basel) and the B 33. During the wine festival, there is a festival bus connection from Offenburg, Fessenbach, and Zell-Weierbach — public transport is expressly recommended due to alcohol consumption.
