About DTM Lausitzring

From June 19th to 21st, 2026, the DEKRA Lausitzring in Schipkau, southern Brandenburg, will transform into the high-summer hotspot of German motorsport. The DTM weekend—one of the most important stops on the German Touring Car Masters calendar—combines DTM races on the 4.5 km long Lausitzring with the ADAC GT Masters, the Porsche Carrera Cup, the BMW M2 Cup, and the Truck Grand Prix Revival (TGP Championship). Experience non-stop action from Friday to Sunday: practice sessions, qualifying, races over multiple laps, and a supporting program with paddock access, stand promotions, and live broadcasts on big screens. The field is international, and the Lausitzring is one of Germany's fastest race tracks—a must-attend event for motorsport fans from Berlin, Saxony, and all over Germany.

Lausitzring — Brandenburg's Motorsport Cathedral

The DEKRA Lausitzring in Schipkau (Oberspreewald-Lausitz district) is the largest race track in Eastern Germany and one of the most modern multi-purpose tracks in Europe. Opened in 2000 on a former open-cast mining site, it features a 4.5 km long Grand Prix circuit, an adjacent oval, and a comprehensive safety and test center for the TÜV Group DEKRA.

From June 19th to 21st, 2026, the Lausitzring will host one of its major events: the DTM weekend of the German Touring Car Masters series. It is part of the national DTM calendar and draws tens of thousands of visitors to Lower Lusatia.

Races and Series

The DTM weekend is not just a DTM event, but a motorsport festival with several parallel series:

  • DTM: German Touring Car Masters — GT3 cars in the top class of German touring car racing. Main races on Saturday and Sunday.
  • ADAC GT Masters: GT3 sprint racing series with an international field.
  • Porsche Carrera Cup: One-make cup series with identical Porsche race cars.
  • BMW M2 Cup: Junior series with BMW cars.
  • TGP Championship — Truck Grand Prix Revival: Races for truck cars, a format with over 30 years of tradition at the Lausitzring.

Spread across the weekend, the series will feature practice sessions on Friday, qualifying on Saturday, and main races on Saturday/Sunday.

Supporting Program and Visitor Experience

In addition to the racing, the DTM weekend offers a festival experience: A paddock with open pit lane access allows for encounters with drivers and mechanics, promotional roadshows by DTM sponsors, sim racing stations, street food-style catering, and live music during breaks. All races will be commented on via large screens and loudspeakers at the grandstands.

The Lausitzring 2026

For 2026, the Lausitzring has a particularly busy calendar according to the organizer — the DTM weekend is the sporting highlight of the summer. The format already saw strong spectator numbers in 2025, a tradition in Lusatia that dates back to the Truck Grand Prix of the early 2000s.
