175th Spring Festival in Fürstenfeldbruck with König Ludwig Festival Tent
The Brucker Volksfest in Fürstenfeldbruck – or Bruck for short – celebrates its 175th edition in 2026. The tradition dates back to 1851, making it one of the oldest city festivals in Upper Bavaria. Since 2015, it has been moved from summer to spring and is now considered a Spring Festival – the largest Volksfest in Munich's west.
From Friday, April 24 to Sunday, May 3, 2026, the Volksfestplatz on Marthabräustraße will transform into a festival mile. The large festival tent of host Jochen Mörz (Mörz Festzeltbetriebs GmbH) is the heart of the Volksfest, featuring a daily changing music program with Bavarian bands and cultural performances. König Ludwig Brewery supplies the festival beer. In addition, there are amusement rides – from the Ferris wheel to the roller coaster – classic family carousels, shooting galleries, snack stands, and candy stalls.
The festival kitchen and stalls offer the full spectrum of Bavarian festival cuisine: Hendl (roast chicken), Leberkas (meatloaf), Brezn (pretzels), Schweinshaxn (pork knuckle), Steckerlfisch (grilled fish on a stick), Weißwürste (white sausages), Brotzeit (snack platters), and sweet specialties like Lebkuchenherzen (gingerbread hearts), gebrannte Mandeln (candied almonds), and Magenbrot (stomach bread). The festival tent's beer comes from König Ludwig – one of the traditional Upper Bavarian breweries from Kaltenberg.
Program highlights:
Fürstenfeldbruck, with around 38,000 inhabitants, is the district capital of the Fürstenfeldbruck district – one of the largest surrounding districts of Munich. The city is located about 25 kilometers west of Munich and is known for its Kloster Fürstenfeld (Fürstenfeld Abbey) with its baroque monastery church – one of the most important sacred buildings in Upper Bavaria. The Brucker Volksfest is – alongside the Munich Frühlingsfest – the most important spring Volksfest in the greater Munich area.
The 175th anniversary edition in 2026 is confirmed in the event outlook of the City of Fürstenfeldbruck and in several Bavarian Volksfest portals (Bayernradar, Bayern Tourismus, fruehlingsfest-muenchen.de). The city will publish an official program booklet (PDF: Brucker_Volksfest26_Programm.pdf).
The festival opens on Friday, April 24, with the traditional opening parade to the Volksfestplatz. Exhibitors open at 5:00 PM. Jochen Mörz's festival tent, featuring König Ludwig beer, starts with a beer tapping ceremony and performances by Bavarian bands. On the following days, the family program, senior afternoons, and themed evenings in the festival tent alternate. A highlight is a modern laser show during the festival.
