Summer festival of the Burschen- und Madlverein in the Bürgerhaus courtyard
Schiltberg is located in the southern part of the Aichach-Friedberg district, in the heart of the Wittelsbacher Land in Upper Bavaria. The small community and its districts thrive on village cohesion, which is particularly evident every year at the Dorffest of the Burschen- und Madlverein Schiltberg e.V. Since 2015, the association has been organizing the festival in the Bürgerhaus courtyard — a tradition that has quickly become a fixed date in the village calendar.
The courtyard of the Bürgerhaus serves as the natural stage: beer benches, umbrellas, a small stage, decorated walls, and the charm of village architecture. The young men and women transform the courtyard into a convivial meeting place where generations come together — from grandfathers at neighboring tables to toddlers playing between the tables.
The culinary offerings are classically Bavarian: Steckerlfisch (fish grilled on a stick), sausages, Schweinshax'n (pork knuckle), Käsespätzle (cheese noodles), accompanied by draft beer from one of the regional breweries in the Wittelsbacher Land. Cake and coffee in the afternoon, baked by the Madln (young women), and live music in the evening by a band or DJ, depending on the program.
The Burschen- und Madlverein Schiltberg is more than just a festival organizer — it is part of the Upper Bavarian tradition of young village associations that preserve customs and keep social life vibrant. The members are also involved in Maypoles, harvest festivals, pilgrimages, and support village life throughout the year. The Dorffest is their most important source of income.
Those spending the weekend in Schiltberg can combine the festival visit with the TSV sports festival the previous weekend or a bike tour along the Lech meadows. Its location between Augsburg and Ingolstadt makes Schiltberg an ideal starting point for tours in the southern Wittelsbacher Land.
The 2026 Dorffest in Schiltberg will take place on July 18 — as always in the Bürgerhaus courtyard. The Burschen- und Madlverein Schiltberg e.V. is responsible for organization and catering, and the whole village gathers for a long summer evening of delicacies, live music, and good cheer.
A week earlier, on July 11 and 12, 2026, the TSV Schiltberg invites you to its sports festival — a double festival weekend in the small community in the Aichach-Friedberg district.
The exact stage program and start times will be announced in advance on the Facebook and Instagram pages of the Burschen- und Madlverein Schiltberg.
Schiltberg is located between Aichach and Schrobenhausen in the Aichach-Friedberg district. By car via the A8 (exit Augsburg-Ost) or A9 (exit Schrobenhausen), then via the B300 or country roads. Parking is available in the village and in the surrounding meadows. Public transport: Bus line from Aichach/Schrobenhausen, limited on weekends.
Free admission. Food and drinks are sold at fair village festival prices, with proceeds supporting the work of the Burschen- und Madlverein.
The Dorffest traditionally begins in the afternoon and continues late into the evening. Those who want to experience live music should plan for the early evening. Mosquitoes may be present in the courtyard; bring sun protection on warm days.
