On Sunday, June 28, 2026, starting at 4:00 PM, the Olpe Aktiv City Marketing Association invites you to the Picnic Concert in the City Park — a format that has become a summer tradition in Olpe. Enjoying classical music on a picnic blanket with a cheese platter and a glass of wine as the sun slowly sets: the concept is simple but extraordinarily effective.

The Hoberg/Kellermann Duo

Peter Hoberg on guitar and Vitali Kellermann on piano are both established musicians with many years of concert experience. Their program combines classical pieces with emotional performance artistry — the organizers describe it as 'a journey full of emotions, lightness, and joie de vivre'. Classical music with passion and charm, performed outdoors in the city park.

Picnic Concept

The special feature of the picnic concert: there are no seats. Visitors bring their own picnic blankets and refreshments — cheese, wine, bread, snacks, anything is allowed. Space is taken under the old trees in the city park, and the concert begins at 4 PM. This format has become popular in recent years in the Sauerland and Bergisches Land regions because it combines classical music with picnic culture and lowers the barriers to attending classical concerts.

Olpe and the Sauerland

Olpe is a town in the Olpe district in the southern Sauerland region of North Rhine-Westphalia. The town is located on the Biggesee, one of Westphalia's largest reservoirs, and is the gateway to the Ebbegebirge Nature Park. The city park, with its old trees, is one of the central recreational areas in the city center. Olpe (around 25,000 inhabitants) is the headquarters of Sauerland Tourism and the starting point for many hiking and cycling tours.
