Summer village festival at the fire station in the Raitbach district of Pörnbach
The Raitbach district of Pörnbach is located in the Hallertau region between Schrobenhausen and Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm and belongs to the Reichertshofen administrative district. Here, the village festival has been cherished for decades as a small but fine community event – an example of the countless village festivals that keep the vibrant club culture alive in Bavaria, away from the big folk festivals.
The festival takes place around the fire station on Ehrenberger Straße. The Raitbach Volunteer Fire Brigade and friendly clubs provide drinks and catering, while neighbors, families, and guests from surrounding villages populate the festival grounds. The atmosphere is familiar and unpretentious: beer tables under a canopy, sausages from the grill, Franconian and Bavarian snacks, accompanied by a freshly tapped Helles or Weißwurst.
There are deliberately no programmatic highlights at a festival of this size – the focus is on the conviviality of the village community. Anyone who wants to get to know authentic, unagitated rural life beyond the tourist hotspots is in the right place. Hikers and cyclists on the Hallertau cycle path or the Ilmtal cycle path also like to make a detour.
The 2026 edition of the Dorffest Raitbach is listed in the official event calendar of the Pörnbach municipality for June 27, 2026, starting at 3 PM. The venue is, as usual, the fire station in the center of Raitbach. In summer temperatures, the area in front of the fire station becomes the festival grounds: beer tables, a simple bar, and a grill create the typically unagitated atmosphere characteristic of small Franconian-Bavarian village festivals.
As in previous years, hearty Bavarian food is expected – Steckerlfisch or Hendl are not guaranteed, but Bratwürstl, regional Schweinshaxn specialties, and cold drinks are. Those who find a seat at a table quickly strike up conversations with locals from Raitbach, the main town of Pörnbach, and the neighboring communities of Hettenshausen, Reichertshofen, or Hohenwart.
A detailed hourly program is traditionally not published in Raitbach – the festival follows the typical schedule of Bavarian village festivals.
Program changes are possible at short notice for this type of village event. Current information can be found in the Pörnbach municipality's event calendar.
