Holzwickede Karibisch transforms Holzwickede's market square into an open Caribbean stage every summer. For four days, a sandy beach, palm trees, Caribbean live music, rum tasting, a treasure hunt for children, and a culinary journey through the Caribbean bring a holiday atmosphere to the western Sauerland region. Holzwickede Karibisch 2026 transforms Holzwickede's market square into an open Caribbean stage from Thursday, July 23 to Sunday, July 26, 2026. Featuring a sandy beach, palm trees, live concerts by Furumba and Latino Total, rum tasting on Friday, and a pirate treasure hunt on Sunday – free admission.

The 2026 edition builds on the concept of previous years and expands it: more Caribbean bands, an enlarged rum tasting, and new culinary stalls. Beach Projekt Event GmbH confirms the live acts Furumba (Brazil) and Latino Total (Cuba).

The children's treasure hunt on Sunday is one of the highlights and requires pre-registration at [email protected]. The rum tasting on Friday at 4:30 PM (€25 per person) is only possible with registration at [email protected].

Getting There

Take the RB from Dortmund Hbf to Holzwickede Bf in 8 minutes. From the station, it's a 5-minute walk to the market square. By car, take the A1/A44 (exit Holzwickede). Parking is available around the market square and at the train station.

With Holzwickede Karibisch, Beach Projekt Event GmbH brings the Caribbean to Holzwickede's market square. Sand, palm trees, beach chairs, and cocktail bars transform the quiet town center into a holiday destination. You come from the office or work, settle onto the sand, and let yourself be transported to another world by Caribbean live music.

Live Music from Brazil and Cuba

Caribbean bands perform on the market square stage every day. Confirmed acts include Furumba (Brazil) and Latino Total (Cuba). Their music ranges from danceable tunes for the evening hours to relaxed sounds for the early afternoon.

Rum Tasting for Adults

A highlight for adults is the guided rum tasting on Friday starting at 4:30 PM. For €25, you can sample ten selected Caribbean rums under the guidance of experts. Registration via email to [email protected] is required.

Treasure Hunt and Family Program

Children can experience a grand pirate treasure hunt on Sunday at 1 PM – free of charge, with registration at [email protected]. Additionally, there will be face painting, limbo contests, and play areas in the sand.

Culinary Journey Through the Caribbean

The street food stalls offer Creole curries, Jamaican jerk specialties, Cuban tostones, Dominican mofongo, and of course, the obligatory Piña Colada served in a fresh pineapple. Cocktail bars mix Mojitos, Daiquiris, and Cuba Libres.

Holzwickede between Dortmund and Sauerland

Holzwickede is located in the Unna district, east of Dortmund on the edge of the Ruhr area and at the beginning of the Sauerland region. With the nearby Holzwickede train station, the festival is reachable from Dortmund, Unna, and Schwerte in 10–15 minutes. Holzwickede Karibisch complements the summer program of the small municipality with a highlight that resonates far beyond the town's borders.
