Open-air Schlager on the Wriezen open-air stage
The Wriezen open-air stage is one of Brandenburg's most beautiful open-air theaters — a grandstand built into the hillside with a stage podium and natural acoustics, located on the edge of the town of Wriezen in the Märkisch-Oderland district. When the Schlagernacht starts on May 23, 2026, at 6 p.m., the grandstand will fill with Schlager fans from the Oderbruch, from Eberswalde, Bad Freienwalde, and of course from Berlin (60 km away).
Schlager music holds a special place in eastern Germany. Generations have grown up with hits from Frank Schöbel, Andrea Berg, Helene Fischer, Roland Kaiser, or the stars of the Schlagerparade. The Schlagernacht Wriezen keeps this tradition alive as a family concert — grandparents bring their grandchildren, mothers and daughters sing along, and everyone dances in the end. It's a genre concert with a clear identity.
Wriezen is a small town in the far east of Brandenburg, located on the Alte Oder river, just a few kilometers from the Polish border. The open-air stage was built in the 1950s and is now a venue for open-air theater, concerts, and summer cinema. The town is surrounded by the Oderbruch, an agriculturally characterized lowland that was drained by Frederick II — a region with its own distinct history and culture.
For those combining the concert with a weekend trip: stay overnight in Wriezen or nearby Bad Freienwalde (8 km), go hiking in the Oderbruch, visit the Bismarck Tower, or take a trip to Poland (Wriezen-Polen bridge only 20 km away). May is the most beautiful time of year for the region — the Schlagernacht is the perfect occasion.
The 2026 Schlagernacht in Wriezen is officially listed in the town's event calendar: Saturday, May 23, 2026, 6:00 PM, Wriezen open-air stage. The organizer is the town of Wriezen in cooperation with the open-air stage operating company.
The concert is an open-air classic in eastern Brandenburg — its geographical location between Berlin, Bad Freienwalde, Eberswalde, and the Polish border makes the Schlagernacht a regional magnet, bringing Schlager fans from three federal states together.
