Christopher Street Day in the Pinneberg district
While the major northern German Prides in Hamburg, Lübeck, and Kiel are widely known, CSD Pinneberg has established itself as an important queer voice in the Hamburg metropolitan area. In the Pinneberg district, in a predominantly rural-suburban part of Schleswig-Holstein, Pinnepride plays a visible role — as a place where queer people from across the district and beyond come together, demonstrate, and celebrate.
The central Drosteiplatz serves as the meeting point and main stage, which also hosts other major Pinneberg events like the Wine Festival or the Christmas Village. From 1 PM, the square fills with Pride flags, information booths from local queer initiatives, food trucks, and a stage featuring a rotation of political speeches, musical performances, and slam poetry.
CSD Pinneberg is part of the German Christopher Street Day movement, which annually commemorates the Stonewall Uprising of June 1969 in New York since 1979. Pinnepride sees itself as a demonstration for the acceptance and equality of queer people and against discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation. The themes change annually — most recently, topics such as anti-discrimination in the workplace or the incorporation of queer rights into the constitution.
Pinneberg is the district town in the district of the same name, just 20 km northwest of Hamburg. Visitors to CSD Pinneberg often combine it with the neighboring CSD Norderstedt (late May) or the large CSD Hamburg (early August) to form a Pride season in the north — a movement that spans the entire metropolitan region and Schleswig-Holstein.
In 2026, CSD Pinneberg e. V. once again calls for a demonstration and street festival at Drosteiplatz. The event begins at 1 PM and combines a rally, a parade through the city center, and a stage program into one day.
On stage, as indicated by the organizers' communications, there will be powerful speeches, fantastic music, a poetry slam performance, and moderation. The exact order and the complete stage program will be published in good time before the date on csd-pinneberg.de and the social media channels.
Exact artists and slam poets will be announced on csd-pinneberg.de.
