Popular cycling event in Albstadt with four routes between 21 and 98 km — Start at the Festhalle Lautlingen
The Country-Tourenfahrt (CTF) is a very popular cycling format in Germany: no timing, no competition, no jersey requirement — just the joy of cycling in a beautiful landscape, with an organized route and refreshment stops along the way. On June 28, 2026, CTF Albstadt organizes its annual event around Albstadt and the Swabian Jura. The start and finish is the Festhalle Lautlingen, a district of Albstadt in the south of the city.
The organizers offer four different routes, so there is something for every type of participant:
The exact route details will be published by CTF Albstadt before the event and will be well signposted; they usually lead through the typical Jura landscape with forests, scattered fruit orchards, small villages, and panoramic views into the Danube valley or the Hohenzollern region.
The Festhalle Lautlingen is a classic Swabian club meeting point in the Lautlingen district of Albstadt. It serves as the start and finish point for the CTF: registration, route map distribution, snack service, and finish reception take place here. On the longer routes, there are also refreshment stops along the way with water, energy bars, bananas, and apple juice — the typical catering of German CTF events.
It is no coincidence that Albstadt hosts this cycling tradition: the district town in the Zollernalbkreis was the venue for the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in 2017 and has been a regular venue for the Mountain Bike World Cup for years. The Bullenheide, the Schalksburg, and the slopes of the Swabian Jura around Albstadt offer a huge network of cycle paths for hobby and professional cyclists. The district of Lautlingen with the Festhalle is located in the south of Albstadt; the nearby Schloss Lautlingen (birthplace of Claus Graf Schenk von Stauffenberg, Hitler assassin of July 20, 1944) is a sight for those interested in history.
The tour leads through one of the most diverse low mountain range landscapes in Germany. Karst, juniper heaths, Albtrauf cliffs, and countless scattered fruit orchards shape the scenery. In June, the meadows are in bloom, the forests are lush green — the Country-Tourenfahrt is also a landscape experience. Along the way, you will pass through villages with typical Jura architecture: farmhouses with hipped roofs, village churches, and well-maintained village squares.
The Country-Tourenfahrt Albstadt 2026 is the annual CTF event organized by the club CTF Albstadt. Four routes — 21, approx. 40–50, approx. 70–80, and 98 kilometers — offer something for every cyclist's level. Start and finish is the Festhalle Lautlingen in the south of Albstadt.
The routes lead through the Swabian Jura with scattered fruit orchards, forests, small villages, and panoramic views. Refreshment stops along the way provide participants with supplies.
