2,000 classic cars over 2 kilometers of Kurfürstendamm – the 15th edition celebrates 140 years of the automobile and 140 years of Ku'damm simultaneously
The Kurfürstendamm was laid out in 1886 by then-Chancellor Otto von Bismarck as Berlin's magnificent western axis. In the same year, Carl Benz registered his patent for the first production-ready automobile in Mannheim. Both stories are closely linked to the birth of modern Berlin and modern mobility – a convergence that the Classic Days Berlin 2026 will celebrate as a double anniversary.
Over two kilometers of Kurfürstendamm – between Leibnizstraße and Joachimsthaler Straße – around 2,000 historic vehicles will be on display: pre-war rarities, post-war classics, youngtimers, luxury sports cars, and iconic brands. Anyone strolling through the Berlin city center on the weekend will see an open-air gallery of automotive heritage – up close, arranged alphabetically by brand, with explanations from the vehicle owners.
The event is clearly structured: Participating vehicles must be classics with a valid Classic Driver Card. Entry for participating vehicles is between 9 AM and 11 AM at three designated points (Joachimsthaler Straße, Uhlandstraße, Leibnizstraße). Stage shows, brand showcases, VIP, and champagne areas complement the program. The event is completely free for the public.
The Kurfürstendamm is located in the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district, in the heart of West Berlin. The event closes the boulevard to traffic (road closure May 8th, 4 AM to May 11th, 5 AM), allowing for an undisturbed presentation. 700,000 expected visitors make the festival one of Berlin's biggest May weekends.
The 15th edition of Classic Days is marked by a historic trio: 140 years of Kurfürstendamm (initiated by Bismarck in 1886), 140 years of the automobile (Carl Benz's patent in 1886), and 15 years of Classic Days Berlin itself. These three anniversaries shape the 2026 program – with special brand exhibitions, curated themed routes, and stage shows that tell the historical connection between Berlin, the automobile, and the boulevard.
As in previous years, around 2,000 classics will gather over two kilometers of Kurfürstendamm – including pre-war rarities (often from the 1920s and 1930s), post-war classics (50s, 60s, 70s), youngtimers (80s, 90s), and luxury collector's items. The vehicles are arranged alphabetically by brand, so Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Citroën, Lancia, Jaguar, Bentley, and Bugatti drivers will be in their own clusters. Stage shows, brand presentations, and VIP lounges complement the program.
Road closure: May 8th, 4 AM to May 11th, 5 AM. Access for residents regulated.
