The 2nd Wine Festival Weekend takes place from October 2nd to 4th, 2026 — immediately following the first weekend — and offers a second opportunity on Boppard's historic market square to taste Boppard wines in the unique setting of half-timbered houses and St. Severus Church.
The schedule follows the proven concept: wine tasting stands from Boppard vintners, live music with brass bands and rock bands, wine hikes, and fireworks on Saturday (Oct 3rd) form the programmatic cornerstones. A second fireworks boat trip on Saturday evening rounds off the weekend.
The 2nd Wine Festival Weekend of the Mittelrhein Weinfest Boppard continues the two-part festival concept, offering everyone who missed the first weekend or wishes to enjoy the Boppard wines a second time, another opportunity. The 2nd weekend in 2026 falls on Friday, October 2nd, to Sunday, October 4th, overlapping with the celebrations for German Unity Day (October 3rd) — an additional attraction for day-trippers from the Rhine-Moselle, Rheingau, and Rhine-Main regions.
The venue remains the historic Boppard Market Square with its backdrop of half-timbered houses and the late Romanesque St. Severus Church. The wine tasting stands of the Boppard vintners present the current vintages — especially the famous Rieslings of the Bopparder Hamm, complemented by Pinot Noir, Frühburgunder, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Rosé, and Sekt.
The program largely follows that of the 1st Wine Festival Weekend. During the day, brass bands and folk music ensembles provide the typical wine festival atmosphere; in the evening, rock bands and cover bands take over the program. Wine hikes into the vineyards of the Bopparder Hamm are offered if the weather permits.
The absolute highlight of the 2nd weekend is the fireworks on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026. An elaborate pyrotechnic spectacle will be ignited over the Rhine and the historic market square, its reflection in the Rhine doubling the visual impact. A fireworks boat trip on Saturday evening is the exclusive alternative for guests who wish to experience the spectacle from the Rhine.
