Advent Magic in the Renaissance Castle
The Christmas market at Unteraufseß Castle takes place in the fairytale setting of the Renaissance castle in the Unteraufseß district. The municipality of Aufseß is located in the Aufseß Valley in Franconian Switzerland, in the Bayreuth district of Upper Franconia, Bavaria, and is known for having the highest density of breweries in the world. The market traditionally takes place on the first Sunday of Advent.

The market is opened by the Aufseß Christkind, accompanied musically by the Aufseß-Brunn trombone choir. The local kindergarten also participates in the program. A church quiz, fairy tale readings, and castle tours of Unteraufseß Castle complete the offerings.

On Sunday, November 29, 2026, the first Sunday of Advent, the municipality of Aufseß invites you to the Christmas market at Unteraufseß Castle. The market opens in the early afternoon.
