The Sportlerkerwa Neuhaus is hosted by the ASV Aufseß in one of the most beautiful corners of the Franconian Switzerland. The small village of Neuhaus belongs to the market town of Aufseß in the Bayreuth district — a municipality whose worldwide fame stems from a Guinness World Record entry: Aufseß holds the world record for the highest brewery density per capita — four traditional breweries (Reichold, Stadter, Rothenbach, Aufseßer Brauerei) for around 1,300 inhabitants.

The Sportlerkerwa follows the classic scheme of a sports Kirchweih: The sports club sets up the festival marquee, manages the catering with the friendly local breweries, and provides the musical program. The atmosphere is familial, and admission is free. Most guests come from Neuhaus, Aufseß, and the neighboring towns of the Franconian Switzerland — especially Hollfeld, Heiligenstadt, Waischenfeld, Pottenstein.

Aufseß is a market town with around 1,400 inhabitants in the Bayreuth district, Bavaria.
