Overview

In 2025, the Sportlerkerwa Neuhaus was also celebrated by ASV Aufseß in its usual form. Three days of marquee operations in Neuhaus, Franconian catering, and traditional club life characterized the weekend. The Sportlerkerwa is part of the dense Kirchweih culture of the Franconian Switzerland — a region where almost every village hosts its own annual church fair.

The 2025 edition followed the proven format. ASV Aufseß catered the festival marquee, and the Aufseß breweries provided the beer — four family breweries that together hold the world record for the highest brewery density per capita. The festival marquee filled with club members, villagers from Aufseß, and guests from the neighboring towns of the Franconian Switzerland.

The Sportlerkerwa Neuhaus is one of those small festivals that shape the tourist profile of the Franconian Switzerland: not spectacular, but authentic — and a perfect stopover for hikers or climbers who are currently exploring the rocks around Pottenstein or Waischenfeld.
