Open-Air concert with Chris de Burgh „A Summer Night“ in the Großer Elzpark Mosbach
When Chris de Burgh takes the stage in the Großer Elzpark Mosbach on Saturday evening, July 25, 2026, he brings over 30 years of songwriting career with him. The Irish singer, who has written global hits with „Lady in Red“ (1986), the „The Lady in Red“ variant, „Don't Pay the Ferryman“, and „A Spaceman Came Travelling“, is coming to Mosbach for the third time with his solo tour „A Summer Night with Chris de Burgh“. The Mosbacher Sommer organizers (City of Mosbach in cooperation with the Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung) promise „All good things come in threes“.
The concept of the tour is clear: Chris de Burgh alone with piano and acoustic guitar on a calm, intimate stage. Over two hours of program, around 30 songs, with long stories between the pieces, in which the Irish songwriter explains the creation of his songs. Those who know him from the big band concerts of the 80s and 90s will be surprised by the reduced solo format — different atmosphere, more closeness, more stories.
The venue is the Großer Elzpark — a spacious city park directly on the Elz river, where all important Mosbach open-air concerts take place. The stage will be set up on the west bank, and the audience will be seated or on the lawn. In good weather, the atmosphere is legendary — a summer evening, the park, open-air ambiance with the backdrop of Mosbach's old town.
Chris de Burgh is the third of three major open-air concerts in the Mosbacher Sommer 2026 season. The series „Open-Air Concerts of the Mosbacher Sommer“ brings three to four international acts to the city every year — usually music legends with long careers and loyal audiences. In 2026, The BossHoss and another big name are on the program. Chris de Burgh concludes the series at the end of July.
Tickets are available from €64.95 in advance at Reservix, at the offices of the Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung, and at the Mosbach Tourist Information. Experience shows that seating categories fill up first, with standing room tickets available longer. For special concerts of this magnitude, the organizers recommend booking early — the Mosbacher Sommer has regularly produced sold-out concerts in recent years.
Mosbach is the district capital of the Neckar-Odenwald district, located at the transition from the Neckar valley to the Odenwald forest. The medieval half-timbered old town with its historic market square, the collegiate church, and the Palmsches Haus is one of the most beautiful in Southern Germany. The Großer Elzpark is a short walk from the market square — you can perfectly combine the concert with an exploration of Mosbach's old town. By train, you can reach Mosbach from Heidelberg in 50 minutes, from Heilbronn in 45 minutes.
Classics like „Lady in Red“, „Don't Pay the Ferryman“, „A Spaceman Came Travelling“, „The Snows of New York“, as well as pieces from recent albums.
By train to Mosbach (Baden) or Mosbach West, a 10-minute walk to the Großer Elzpark. By car via the A 6, Sinsheim exit, then B 27 to Mosbach. P+R at the sports center.
