Concert in the Shadow of the Faber-Castell Castle
For generations, Stein near Nuremberg has been the home of the Faber-Castell pencil manufactory – one of the most famous stationery dynasties in the world. The New Faber-Castell Castle and the extensive castle park shape the town's cityscape. Once a year, the town of Stein, in cooperation with the noble family, opens this park for an open-air concert that is one of the most emotional summer events in the region.
The Symphonic Wind Orchestra of the Town of Stein
On stage is the Symphonic Wind Orchestra of the Town of Stein, which presents a varied program of classical music, film scores, concert marches, and symphonic wind music. The acoustic effect in the open park, the summer evening backdrop, and the catering in the greenery make the evening a rich experience of music, conviviality, and landscape.
The Baroque Closing Fireworks
The highlight of each year is the grand baroque closing fireworks, which musically concludes the evening. As the last notes fade in the twilight, the fireworks launch above the castle – a classic "picnic concert" evening straight out of a picture book.
Stein and its Castle Park
Stein is located directly west of Nuremberg in the Middle Franconian district of Fürth. The Faber-Castell Castle Park, with its New and Old Castles, historic buildings, and gardens, is usually only accessible to a limited extent; the castle concert is one of the few occasions when the park is opened to a large audience.
