Town festival with fashion show celebrating Burladingen's textile heritage — Albstadt-Sigmaringen students on the market square
2026
About Spulenfest
Spulenfest — edition 2026
Program 2026
The event is organized by the City of Burladingen in cooperation with the City Management and local textile companies. The festival weekend combines the fashion show on a centrally set-up catwalk with industry information booths, a club stage with music and dance, a children's program, and a catering line-up from Burladingen's clubs.
The fashion show serves as a showcase for the Textile Technology faculty of Albstadt-Sigmaringen University of Applied Sciences: students present their project work, showcase collections, and are available for discussions afterward. Burladingen's textile companies complement the fashion show with their own presentation booths — from TRIGEMA classics to technical textiles.

The Spool as a Symbol of the Town
Since the 19th century, Burladingen has been a center of the Swabian textile industry — and the most famous headquarters of the German textile group TRIGEMA. The Spulenfest makes this textile heritage the focus of the town festival. The spool — a symbol for yarn, spinning, and knitting — is the namesake. On July 25 and 26, 2026, Burladingen's market square will transform into an open stage, oscillating between industrial history and summer festival.
Fashion Show by Albstadt-Sigmaringen University of Applied Sciences
The highlight of the festival is the fashion show, presented by students from the Textile Technology faculty at Albstadt-Sigmaringen University of Applied Sciences. The university, with campuses in Albstadt and Sigmaringen, is one of the few universities in Germany explicitly specializing in textile technology degree programs — the connection to Burladingen's textile tradition has grown organically. On the catwalk in the market square, students will showcase their own designs and collections.
Local Textile Companies Showcase Their Profile
Burladingen is home to several significant textile companies. At the Spulenfest, the following will be represented, among others: TRIGEMA (headquarters in Burladingen, one of Germany's oldest textile companies, known for its "Made in Germany" policy), Dolinschek (knitwear production), askö (technical textiles), and hijoma-tex. The companies will have information booths, present products, and offer insights into the diversity of the local textile sector.
Music, Dance, Club Performances
Complementing the fashion and industry, there will be a vibrant town festival atmosphere: musical performances by local clubs, dance groups, kindergarten groups, food stalls, and drinks provided by Burladingen's clubs. Thus, the Spulenfest is not just an industrial show, but a versatile town festival with a clear connection to the identity of the Zollernalb town.
Burladingen and the Zollernalb District
Burladingen, with just under 12,000 inhabitants, is located in the Zollernalb district in the state of Baden-Württemberg, on the Swabian Jura. The town is the second-largest textile center in the Zollernalb after Albstadt — a historical industrial sector that has shaped the region. In the district's festival calendar, the Spulenfest is a clear statement of identity: Burladingen is not celebrating just any town festival, but its textile heritage.
