A Market with Two Dates
The BurgArt is a market for plants and artisanal crafts, held twice a year at Neustadt-Glewe Castle – a small town in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district (state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern). The spring edition is themed "Frühlingserwachen" (Spring Awakening), and the autumn edition is called "Goldener Herbst" (Golden Autumn). Thus, BurgArt accompanies the changing seasons, offering a product range suitable for each season.
Plants, Crafts, and Artisanal Products
The market features flower and plant vendors as well as suppliers for home and garden. Additionally, artists, craftspeople, and artisans present their creations. Those looking for inspiration for their garden, home, or a special gift will find it here – and can watch the producers at work.
Program for the Whole Family
The BurgArt is more than just a shopping trip. Small workshops and hands-on stations – such as felting, wood and soapstone carving, or archery – invite visitors to try their hand at crafts. A children's train and musical entertainment, including maritime and Irish folk music or walking acts, complete the program. Culinary offerings range from sweet to savory to vegetarian.
Market in a Historic Setting
The venue is Neustadt-Glewe Castle, built in the 13th century and the oldest preserved fortified castle in Mecklenburg. This historic environment makes visiting BurgArt an excursion that combines market, culture, and history. BurgArt is organized by the town of Neustadt-Glewe in cooperation with the Neustadt-Glewe Trade Association (Gewerbeverein Neustadt-Glewe e.V.).
