When the stage is set up at Schaufenster Fischereihafen on Thursdays, Bremerhaven knows: it's Music Summer. Since 2009, the free concert series has transformed the market square in the fishing harbor into an open-air meeting place by the water week after week. In 2026, the series runs from June 4th to September 10th — 15 Thursdays, 15 concerts, starting at 7 PM each evening, with free admission.

First Local Heroes, Then World Hits

The program has two faces. June is dedicated to Local Heroes — regional bands like Blancker Sound, 90s Unlimited, Rockport, or Delicious Divine, giving the Bremerhaven music scene a big stage. From July, it becomes international: tribute bands bring hits by the Beatles, ABBA, Queen, Pink Floyd, Kiss, and other icons back to life. This concept mixes local talent promotion with the grand sound of music history — a concept that attracts around 50,000 people annually.

Free Admission, Maritime Setting

Up to 4,000 guests can fit in the square on a busy evening. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. The setting is part of the special appeal: an open-air concert, with the brick buildings of the fishing harbor behind, surrounded by gastronomy and the maritime flair of the port city. The 2026 edition, with its particularly strong lineup, is considered a record year.
