A Blues Mile in the Fishing Harbour

When winter settles over the maritime city of Bremerhaven, the Schaufenster Fischereihafen transforms into a blues mile for one evening. During the Winter Blues Festival, almost the entire restaurant promenade becomes a continuous concert route: five venues, one ticket, one evening full of live music. The festival has long since become a firm tradition in Bremerhaven's winter calendar—a welcome warm night during the cold season, when there's otherwise little going on along the North Sea coast.

Five Stages, One Ticket

The venues are the Theater im Fischereihafen, the legendary cult pub Krohn's Eck, and the restaurants B'Haven, Dock IV, and Takelage. With your admission ticket, you can move freely between all locations throughout the evening and create your own personal program from the parallel running schedule—from an intimate pub set with a beer to a grand performance on the theater stage. Those who arrive early can have dinner in one of the Schaufenster's restaurants before the first concert: Admission is from 5:30 PM, and the music starts at 7 PM.

Blues in All Its Forms

The program features six bands playing blues, blues-rock, boogie, and rock 'n' roll. Each year, the lineup mixes regional acts with top-class guests from across the German-speaking world and from abroad, ensuring a diverse range of blues styles meet on a single evening. The event is organized by the Theater im Fischereihafen, which brings its experienced stage direction and regular audience to the event.

Maritime Bremerhaven

The Schaufenster Fischereihafen, with its historic halls, fish restaurants, and pubs, is one of the most vibrant spots in the maritime city—a piece of Hanseatic harbour tradition nestled between shipyards, the fish market, and the Weser estuary. The Winter Blues Festival makes full use of this maritime backdrop, turning a cold winter night in the state of Bremen into a warm, densely packed musical experience, where the audience drifts from stage to stage through the harbour.
