Ornithological Spring Tour of the Feldberger Seenlandschaft Nature Park
The bird watching tour is an ornithological spring guided tour of the Feldberger Seenlandschaft Nature Park. It is traditionally offered on March 21st – the astronomical start of spring – and uses the early morning hours to experience the spring songbirds in the forest, on the lakes, and in the traditional orchards around Carwitz.
The meeting point is at the Hans Fallada Museum in Carwitz, Zum Bohnenwerder 2. The tour lasts 2–3 hours and takes place under the guidance of experienced ornithologists through the protected area. Topics covered include:
Carwitz is not only a literary center (Hans Fallada Museum) but also one of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's most diverse bird landscapes: mixed forests, traditional orchards, lakes, wetlands, and fields are concentrated within a few kilometers. The tour specifically utilizes this diversity.

On Saturday, March 21, 2026, the Feldberger Seenlandschaft Nature Park invites you to the annual bird watching tour. The meeting point is in the early morning hours at the Hans Fallada Museum in Carwitz (Zum Bohnenwerder 2).
Under the guidance of ornithologists and nature park rangers, over 2–3 hours, participants will listen to and identify the spring songbirds of the Feldberger Seenlandschaft: Song Thrushes, Robins, Nuthatches, Chaffinches, Wrens, and many more. By car via the A20 (exit Friedland), then L34 to Carwitz. By train to Neustrelitz and then by bus. Meeting point: Hans Fallada Museum Carwitz, Zum Bohnenwerder 2.
