Traditional Schützenfest of the Uniformed Jägercorps Pattensen in June
The Schützenfest in Pattensen is hosted by the Uniformed Jägercorps Pattensen, an association with its own identity and a long history. The Jägercorps combines traditional marksmanship with the appearance of a uniformed corps, giving the festival its special character. Pattensen, a town of around 14,000 inhabitants in the southern Hannover region, provides the setting for a festival that visibly brings the urban community together.
Schützenfeste have a particularly vibrant tradition in Lower Saxony. They combine sporting competitions — especially the King's Shoot — with social receptions, parades, and Volksfest elements. In Pattensen, the Schützenfest marks a highlight in the association calendar every year. The previous year's monarchs step down, new dignitaries are determined, and friendly associations from the Hannover area travel to participate in parades and receptions.
Over two days, the program unfolds between the Schützenplatz (marksmen's square), the festival tent, and the town center. The parade traditionally winds through the town, accompanied by marching bands and music groups. In the festival tent, live bands and DJs provide evening dance events. On the festival grounds, amusement rides, shooting galleries, and catering stalls complete the picture of a classic Schützenfest. During the day, receptions, the King's Shoot, and children's programs are the main focus.
Like many Schützenfeste in Lower Saxony, the Pattensen festival thrives on the voluntary commitment of countless helpers. The Uniformed Jägercorps, the friendly shooting clubs, the fire brigade, the music groups, and not least the town administration contribute to making the festival a meeting place for generations — and at the same time a low-threshold occasion for newcomers and guests to get to know the town from its social side.
On Friday, June 19, and Saturday, June 20, 2026, the Uniformierten Jägercorps Pattensen will host the traditional Schützenfest. The exact assembly points, routes, and times will be published on the association's website. Over the two festival days, the King's Shoot, receptions, parade, and dance evenings in the marquee will be woven into a dense program.
The exact 2026 program will be published by the Uniformierten Jägercorps Pattensen in the spring. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:
The final program sequence will be published shortly before the festival on jaegercorps-pattensen.de.
