Weiberdonnerstag – or "Altweiberfasnacht" – is the traditional start of the peak carnival season in Rhenish carnival and is celebrated with big parties in many carnival strongholds. In Ludwigshafen, the Friedrich-Ebert-Halle has established itself as the central venue for this party tradition.

Largest Party in the Metropolitan Region

The organizers speak of the "largest Altweiberfasnacht in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region." The Eberthalle, with its capacity for several thousand guests, provides the infrastructure for a large-scale event of this magnitude, placing it in line with the hall parties in Cologne, Düsseldorf, or Mainz – albeit in the south, with a Palatinate touch.

Live Music and DJ Lineup

In 2026, the band Grand Malör – a well-known local cover and party band – will be the main musical act. The live set will be complemented by DJ performances from Beatbreakers, Daniel Enrix, RAM_ON, and Mr. Propeller, who will play a mix of charts, Schlager, après-ski hits, and carnival classics.

Friedrich-Ebert-Halle

The Friedrich-Ebert-Halle – Eberthalle for short – in southern Ludwigshafen has been one of the city's central event venues for decades. Concerts, carnival sessions, trade fairs, and major events take place here. The hall is easily accessible by tram and bus.

Admission and Tickets

Admission to the Altweiberfasnacht costs 21 Euros. Tickets are available through Eventim and at Lukom's advance booking offices. While not officially a costume-mandatory event, most visitors come in costume.
