Marienkirche as the Centerpiece

The Neo-Romanesque Marienkirche of Rodalben, with its distinctive tower, dominates the town's silhouette and forms the natural center of the Christmas market. The stalls are grouped around the church and in the market square, so the view of the illuminated building falls from many points. The sound of the bells provides a sacred framework for the market.

„Market of Scents, Lights, and Sounds“

With its self-chosen subtitle, the market makes a clear promise: The scents of mulled wine, roasted almonds, chestnuts, and fir branches mingle at the stalls. Hundreds of fairy lights, candles in lanterns, and illuminated fir trees transform the town center into a sea of lights. Sounds arise from choirs, brass choirs, children's singing groups, and a central stage program.

Fire Show as the Highlight

A trademark of the Rodalben Christmas Market is the fire show — a nightly spectacle with pyrotechnics, fire jugglers, or a flame show, which often takes place on Saturday evening. The spectacle attracts numerous visitors from the entire Südwestpfalz district and is regularly featured in the local press.

Arts and Crafts and Community Life

The stalls are largely supplied by Rodalben associations, schools, and local artisans. Nativity figures, carved wooden objects, knitwear, Advent wreaths, candles, and culinary specialties are on offer. Proceeds from the association stalls go to social projects and the town's community work.
