King's Shoot and Proclamation of the Majesties of the Lauenau Marksmen's Guild of 1924
The Lauenau Marksmen's Guild was founded in 1924 and is one of the traditional clubs in the village of Lauenau in the Samtgemeinde Rodenberg, Schaumburg district. The club year is characterized by numerous shooting competitions, club evenings, and traditional events; the King's Shoot with the subsequent Marksmen's Ball is the annual highlight.
On October 17, 2026, the guild's shooting range will host the competition for the royal title. Junior marksmen will compete from 6:30 PM, followed by adults from 7:00 PM. The discipline complies with the regulations of the German Marksmen's Federation; scoring takes place on the club's own competition facilities. With the determination of the highest scores, it will be clear who will be King, Junior King, Ladies' Queen, and Children's Queen in the coming year.
Following the King's Shoot, the guild invites you to the Marksmen's Ball. The official proclamation of the new Majesties will be celebrated in the festival hall: entry into the King's chain, presentation of sashes and crowns, speeches, honors, and dancing with live music into the night. The Marksmen's Ball is the social highlight of club life and brings together friendly clubs from the Schaumburg Marksmen's Association.
The marksmen's year in Lauenau traditionally begins in March with an indoor tournament, followed by several club evenings, cup shoots, and traditional events throughout the year. The King's Shoot in October marks the end of the annual competition cycle. The club's local and shooting facilities form the geographical center of club life.
The King's Shoot is the sporting and traditional highlight of the year. Using an air rifle or small-caliber rifle, participants shoot at the King's target in the club's own shooting range. The highest scores determine the new Majesties.
In the festively decorated hall, the guild will subsequently celebrate the Marksmen's Ball. A ceremonial speech, honors, the presentation of the King's chain, and dancing with live music form the climax. Friendly clubs from the Schaumburg Marksmen's Association participate in the ball.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the Lauenau Marksmen's Guild on their website and at the club's local. The structure follows the established key points:
