When the Museum Park Becomes a Festival Ground

Once a year, the Focke-Museum not only opens its doors but transforms its spacious park into a festival ground for the entire neighbourhood. Fockes Fest traditionally takes place on the first Sunday in September — on September 6, 2026, from 2 PM to 6 PM. With free admission, the Bremen State Museum for Art and Cultural History combines a neighbourhood festival and museum experience for a carefree afternoon in the green.

Stage, Stands, and Museum Tours

A colourful programme of events awaits guests on the stage and in the park. In addition, there are information stands, culinary offerings from cake to bratwurst, and tours of the museum. This allows the festival afternoon to be combined with a look into the museum's collections — cultural history to touch, embedded in a community festival that appeals equally to families, residents, and museum friends.

In the Park of the Focke-Museum in Schwachhausen

The venue is the museum park of the Focke-Museum on Schwachhauser Heerstraße in the Schwachhausen district, one of Bremen's greenest quarters. The park-like setting with the historic Haus Riensberg gives the festival its special, relaxed character.
