Hardcore and Post-Punk Festival on the RAW grounds in Friedrichshain
The RAW grounds on Revaler Straße in Berlin-Friedrichshain have been one of Berlin's iconic addresses for alternative music for years. A former Reichsbahn repair workshop, now an ensemble of clubs, a skate hall, a street food market, and independent spaces. The Berlin Breakout Festival utilizes this topography: three different venues in one day, with short walks outdoors between them.
What was considered a niche offering just a few years ago is now one of Berlin's most vital subcultures. The Hardcore and Post-Punk scene attracts a young, internationally mixed audience. The Berlin Breakout Festival was launched in 2025 as a response to this development – with the aim of placing established and new acts equally, without commercial filters.
Headlining the second edition are Touché Amoré from Los Angeles, who will perform their 2016 album Stage Four – a dense work shaped by personal loss – in its entirety. In addition, a host of other international and national acts: Home Front (Canada, Post-Punk), Death Lens, Greet Death, End It, Pest Control, Ways Away, Xiao, Speedway, Excide, Yeahrs, LA HAINE, HOLLOW SUNS, Feels like heaven, NOTHING WORKS, febuary, and more.
Between concerts, there's a DIY marketplace with record stores, fanzines, clothing labels, and initiatives. The street food offering is entirely vegan, a clear statement from the festival. The organizers, Loft Concerts, emphasize the community aspect: "Participating means being part of something" – not just a consumption event, but an open meeting point for the scene.
The festival day on June 13, 2026, begins at 2:00 PM with the opening slots of local and up-and-coming acts. As the day progresses, the program shifts towards the larger stages, with Touché Amoré as the headliner slot in the late evening.
The three venues used are the Astra Kulturhaus as the largest hall, Urban Spree as the medium stage, and a third, rotating venue on the RAW grounds depending on the year. The paths between them are outdoors, a maximum of two to three minutes on foot.
Between concerts, there's a marketplace with record stores, fanzines, and DIY labels. Fully vegan food offerings, several bars.
