Bergedorf Runs
The Bergedorfer City Run has been the most important sporting event in Hamburg's Bergedorf district for years. The organiser is TSG Bergedorf von 1860 e.V., one of the oldest sports clubs in the Hanseatic city. In 2026, the 13th edition will take place – over 3,000 participants of all ages will complete laps on a 2.5 km course through the old town.
Four distances for all levels
- 500 m – Bambini Run for the youngest runners
- 2.5 km – School and taster run
- 5 km – Fun distance
- 10 km – Main race
Route past Hamburg's only castle
The circuit leads directly past Bergedorf Castle – the only surviving castle within Hamburg – and through the pedestrian zone around Sachsentor. With its medieval town centre, the old town of Bergedorf provides an unusual backdrop for a fun run. The start and finish are in the city centre, and hundreds of spectators cheer along the route.
Bergedorf District, Southeast Hamburg
Bergedorf is Hamburg's easternmost district and has its own, small-town identity. The City Run, organised voluntarily by TSG helpers, is one of the events that make this character visible. Travel via S21 Bergedorf, 25 minutes from Hamburg Central Station.
