Three Days of Voice in Bergedorf

Anyone traveling in the southeastern Hamburg district of Bergedorf knows the KörberHaus at Kurt-A.-Körber-Chaussee 55. Since its opening in 2023, it has developed into a community center where the library, local culture, and events come together. The Bergedorf Choir Festival is one of the house's musical highlights.

Concerts in the Evening, Workshops During the Day

For three days, the KörberHaus transforms into a space of sound. On Friday and Saturday evenings, concerts start at 7 p.m., and on Sunday, the finale moves to 4 p.m. During the day, workshops are open for singers of all vocal ranges: vocal training, repertoire work, a cappella practice. The workshops are led by experienced instructors from the Northern German choral scene.

All Voices Are Welcome

The festival thrives on the diversity of ensembles that meet in Bergedorf:

• Children's and youth choirs from Hamburg and the surrounding area
• School choirs presenting their year's work
• Men's, women's, and mixed choirs of various styles
• Experienced ensembles alongside amateur choirs

The goal is not to establish a hierarchy between professionals and amateurs, but to make the Hamburg choral landscape visible.

Bergedorf — the Green District in the Southeast

The Bergedorf district is located in the southeastern tip of Hamburg and is one of the city's most diverse districts, with marshland, the Vier- und Marschlande regions, and the historic Bergedorf old town. The KörberHaus itself is within walking distance of the Bergedorf S-Bahn station and is well connected to Hamburg city center.

You can experience the festival in two ways: as an audience member at the evening concerts or as an active singer in the workshop program. Ticket prices for both formats start at 17 euros, with workshops ranging from 17 to 22 euros.
