Open-Air Rock Concert at Bergedorfer Hafen
Rocksin — short for "Rock am Bergedorfer Hafen" — is a recurring open-air concert series in Hamburg's Bergedorf district, in the historic Bergedorfer Hafen (Bergedorf Harbour) quarter. The format focuses on providing a free open-air stage for Hamburg rock music from the district and Northern Germany — a low-threshold answer to the city's commercialised major festivals.
The Bergedorfer Hafen is located on the Bille (a tributary of the Elbe) and is one of Bergedorf's oldest quarters. Today, the harbour district has established itself as a creative centre with cafés, bars, and cultural initiatives. The Klangbar im Suhrhof, a traditional Bergedorf music bar, is a partner and venue.
Programmatically, Rocksin is classic open-air rock music: bands from Hamburg's underground scene, cover and original bands from the Northern German region, rock, indie, and punk rock acts. Free entry — the event relies on bar gastronomy from the participating venues and the support of Bergedorfer Hafen e.V.
Unlike fixed summer festivals, Rocksin has not had a set date in the annual calendar in recent years — it typically takes place in the summer, with the exact timing depending on band availability, weather, and permits. A documented edition took place in 2019; the event is not yet officially listed in the Bergedorf calendar for 2026 at the time of publication. The series is considered vibrant and will be relaunched in coordination with Bergedorfer Hafen e.V. as soon as a date is set.
Independently of the Rocksin format, Bergedorfer Hafen e.V. also hosts artists and concerts at "favourite spots" around the harbour on various summer Saturdays — a lively summer programme into which Rocksin fits as a prominent date.
The concert format relies on the programming by Klangbar and the Bergedorfer Hafen initiative. An official date announcement for 2026 is pending at the time of publication; the series is anchored as a recurring summer format within Bergedorf's harbour activities.
As in documented previous years (most recently 2019 as a Rocksin edition), it is a free open-air concert featuring rock bands from the Hamburg area. According to their own statements, Bergedorfer Hafen e.V. continues to plan artist performances at "favourite spots" around the harbour.
The 2026 programme will be published on bergedorfer-hafen.de and in Bergedorf's district channels once the bands and date are confirmed. Recurring elements:
Take the S2 or S21 train to Bergedorf, then walk for ten minutes over the Bergedorfer Brücke to the harbour district.
Free.
Will be published on bergedorfer-hafen.de and via Bergedorf's district channels as soon as the programme is finalised.
