Bayreuth, an independent city in the administrative region of Upper Franconia, is known worldwide for the Richard Wagner Festival. But the city of music has more to offer: The Jazzforum Bayreuth e.V., founded in 1982, annually organizes the Bayreuth Jazz November – a festival that makes the city a meeting point for the jazz scene in autumn.

Contemporary Jazz in Many Facets

The program of the Bayreuth Jazz November combines traditional jazz sounds with contemporary influences. The spectrum ranges from internationally renowned soloists and established ensembles to up-and-coming newcomer bands. The festival sees itself as a platform for musical discoveries and exciting projects, bringing different styles of modern jazz to Upper Franconia.

The Bayreuth Jazz November traditionally takes place on the first weekend after the Bavarian autumn holidays and is a firm fixture on the Upper Franconian cultural calendar. It complements the year-round club concert program of the Jazzforum and makes Bayreuth visible as a city of music beyond the Wagner Festival.
