About Field Invasion
Metal in the Westerwald
Since its early editions, the Field Invasion Festival has developed into a popular meeting point for the Westerwald and northern German metal scene. Unlike large commercial festivals, Field Invasion consciously remains small, personal, and non-commercially oriented. The event is organized by an association that reinvests its earnings into fees for the bands, the festival grounds, security, and sanitary facilities.
2026 Program
In 2026, the festival will feature two headliners from the German and international metal scene on stage: Artemis Rising and Backstabbed. Other confirmed bands include STESY, MILENKO, RISING RUIN, SNOW WHITE BLOOD, and COLORS OF AUTUMN. The musical spectrum encompasses Modern Metal, Heavy Rock, Melodic Metal, Polka/Punk/Ska Crossover, and Indie Sound. This mix suits the target audience of non-purist festival-goers seeking an open sonic space.
'Field Invasion goes Green'
The 'goes Green' motto stands for consistent sustainability: reusable cups, extensive avoidance of single-use plastics, waste separation, vegetarian and vegan food as equivalent options, regional purchasing for food, and cooperation with local initiatives. The festival aims to show that metal and environmental awareness go hand in hand.
Camping, Chill-Out, Hot Tub
Camping is included on the festival grounds. Festival-goers can pitch their tents amidst concerts, food stalls, and meeting areas. A hot tub area offers a place to relax—an unusual but effective gesture from the 'small festival' with attention to detail.

Getting There
Urbach is located in the Westerwald region near Puderbach (VG Puderbach), Neuwied district. By car via the A3 (Dierdorf exit) or the B256. Directions to the festival will be signposted. By public transport: Niederwambach station or Selters station, then continue with festival shuttles (if available) or taxi.
