Venue
The venue is the Barth open-air stage in the Barther Anlagen, a green park on the edge of the old town. The manageable size of the stage ensures an intimate atmosphere between bands and audience. Camping is available on-site.
Local Context
Barth is located in the Vorpommern-Rügen district on the Barther Bodden, between Stralsund and the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula. The old Hanseatic city with its medieval old town provides an unusual backdrop for a festival that consciously sets itself apart from urban metal events, focusing more on proximity to nature, campfire atmosphere, and scene cohesion.
BMOA — edition 2026
From Friday, August 14th, to Sunday, August 16th, 2026, the Barther Metal Open Air will celebrate its 26th edition at the Barth open-air stage. Admission is on Friday from 8:00 AM, festival operations start around 2:30 PM; the program runs until Sunday morning at 1:30 AM. The focus is on Pagan Metal, Folk Metal, Viking Metal, atmospheric Black Metal, and Thrash Metal. Camping is available on-site, with catering provided.
