Open studios throughout Vorpommern at Pentecost
Kunst:Offen is the largest open studio event in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. On the four days around Pentecost, artists in Vorpommern open their studios, workshops, and galleries to the public. Visitors can experience the creative process up close, talk to the artists, and purchase works on site.
Around 1,000 artists at approximately 500 locations participate in Vorpommern — spread across Rügen, the old town of Stralsund, Barth, the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula, and the surrounding area. The disciplines represented range from painting and photography to textile art, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, printmaking, and glass art.
The event series was launched in 1994 and has since become a fixed date in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's Pentecost calendar. With its decentralized structure, it shapes the image of Vorpommern as an artists' region — many painters, photographers, and sculptors have settled in the Hanseatic cities and along the Baltic coast in recent decades. Admission to all locations is free.
From May 22 to 25, 2026, artists throughout Vorpommern will open their studios, workshops, and galleries. A total of approximately 500 locations with about 1,000 participants are expected, spread across Rügen, the old town of Stralsund, Barth, and the surrounding Vorpommern area. The official opening will take place on Friday, May 22, at the Vineta Bürgerhaus Barth. The open locations will showcase painting, photography, textile art, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, printmaking, and other disciplines. Admission to all locations is free.
Disciplines represented: painting, photography, textile and fashion design, sculpture, ceramics, glass art, jewelry, printmaking. The complete list of locations will be available on the official websites kultur-mv.de and auf-nach-mv.de; printed studio maps will be available at tourist information centers.
