Street Art in a World Heritage Site

Bamberg zaubert is the International Street and Variety Festival of the Upper Franconian city of Bamberg in the Bavarian state of Bavaria. For three days, the UNESCO World Heritage city transforms into a stage for street artists from all over the world. The next edition will take place from July 24 to 26, 2026 – spread across the entire Old Town.

Over 300 Performances

Over the three festival days, more than 300 performances can be experienced on around 20 small and large performance areas. The spectrum ranges from magic and acrobatics to juggling, comedy, music, and spectacular fire shows. The main stage is located at Maxplatz, with other venues spread throughout the city center.

Family-Friendly and Free

Bamberg zaubert is designed to be family-friendly: In addition to the major shows, there are magicians, youth performances, theater, and hands-on activities for children. Thanks to numerous partners, admission is free for all events. A festival button for 5 Euros – including the program and a lottery ticket – supports the financing.

Hat Money Instead of Fees

The artists perform without a fixed fee. The organizers cover travel cost subsidies, hotel with breakfast, and meals; the artists' remuneration consists of the audience's hat money. Provisions are made for security, a family meeting point at Maxplatz, identification bands for children, sanitary facilities, and a medical station.

A Celebration for the Whole City

With its mix of world-class street art and the backdrop of Bamberg's Old Town, the festival is one of the highlights of the Franconian event summer and attracts a large regional and supra-regional audience.
