Traditional Kirchweih in historic Aub on the Gollachgau
The small town of Aub in the Gollachgau, characterized by its medieval history and the Reichelsburg castle, celebrates its Kirchweih every year on the Sunday after Assumption Day (August 15th). The Auber Kirchweih is one of the most important festivals in the town's annual calendar and brings together locals and guests from the entire Würzburg district.
The market square and the hospital grounds serve as the venue, transforming into a festival mile for several days. Traditional Kirchweih customs, brass band music, convivial hospitality, and a colorful program characterize the festival. On the evenings of Friday and Saturday, the Party Safari ensures an exuberant atmosphere – a magnet for younger festival-goers from the entire region.
The Kirchweih is supported by the association Aub Aktiv e.V. With Franconian specialties, cool beer, and live music, the town celebrates for several days, combining tradition and festive cheer.
Aub is located in the Würzburg district in the administrative region of Lower Franconia in Bavaria, on the edge of the Gollachgau near the border with Middle Franconia. In 2026, the Auber Kirchweih falls on Sunday, August 16th – always the Sunday after Assumption Day. The market square and the hospital grounds in historic Aub are the venue. On the nights of Friday and Saturday, the Party Safari ensures an exuberant atmosphere. The festival is supported by the association Aub Aktiv e.V.
