The Mystika Festival is a young but rapidly growing event that utilises the unique setting of the Germersheim fortifications for a modern fantasy and medieval festival. The former Bavarian Federal Fortress from the 19th century, with its monumental walls, gates, bastions, and courtyards, provides a backdrop that is unusually authentic for a festival of this kind.
Seven Themed Worlds
The festival is conceptually divided into seven thematic worlds:
- Medieval: Knights, castle dwellers, craftsmen, blacksmiths.
- Fantasy: Elves, wizards, dragons, mythical creatures.
- Steampunk: Victorian machine world, goggles, gears.
- Cosplay: Fans in self-made anime, game, and film costumes.
- Larp: Live-action role-playing zones with their own scenarios.
- Magic: Magic shows, tarot, fortune tellers, alchemy.
- Dark Myths: Gothic, vampires, dark fairy tales, black romance.
Merchants' Market
Over a hundred merchants offer knightly equipment, cosplay accessories, leather goods, jewellery, swords and staffs, books, games, incense, clothing, and culinary specialities. The market is spread across all three venues.
Stage Programme and Concerts
Several stages are in continuous use: Medieval folk and pagan folk, Steampunk bands, cosplay competitions, sword fighting demonstrations, falconry displays, fire shows in the evening.

The fortifications form the heart, the Hufeisen cultural centre the musical and cultural stage, and the Unipark the market and cosplay area.
Mystika Festival — edition 2026
The full 2026 programme (stage line-up, cosplay competitions, Larp scenarios) will be published by Mystika on festival-mystika.com. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years.
Tickets are available in advance (day tickets and multi-day tickets). Cosplay costumes are explicitly encouraged and will be included in the cosplay competition.

2026 Programme according to organiser information:
- Thu 4.6. 11:00-22:00: Opening of the fortifications and themed worlds, welcome by festival management, initial stage programme.
- Fri 5.6. 14:00-22:00: Main programme day, multiple stages in use, sword fighting demonstrations, falconry displays.
- Sat 6.6. 11:00-22:00: Grand Cosplay Competition, main concerts in the evening (Medieval Folk, Pagan Folk, Steampunk), fire shows after dark.
- Sun 7.6. 11:00-18:00: Closing day with Larp highlights, final concerts, farewell ceremony.
- Permanent: Merchants' market with over 100 vendors, cosplay meet-up points, magic and tarot stations.
