Aachen's New Electronic Festival — By Students, For Everyone

The astaluna Festival marks the premiere of a new Aachen festival: the city's first non-commercial indoor electronic festival, organized by the AStA of RWTH Aachen (General Student Committee). From April 17th to 18th, 2026, DAS LIEBIG — one of Aachen's largest venues — will transform into a two-day stage for electronic music.

The Concept — Non-Commercial, Accessible, Diverse

astaluna deliberately sets a counterpoint to the commercial festival industry: no VIP areas with exorbitant prices, no €200 tickets, no corporate sponsors. Instead, there's student engagement, professional production, a clear non-commercial stance, and a program that equally represents diverse genres of electronic music — from Trance and Techno to House, Latin, and more. A festival that combines local grassroots energy with professional production standards.

The Lineup — 28 Artists on 2 Stages

The festival brings together 28 artists on two parallel indoor stages. The lineup will be released successively on astaluna.de — a mix of local Aachen DJs, German acts, and international guests. The curatorial line includes:

  • Trance — classic and progressive variations
  • Techno — from minimal to melodic
  • House — Deep, Tech, Tribal
  • Latin — modern electronic fusion with Latin American rhythms
  • Other subgenres and cross-over acts

DAS LIEBIG — The Venue

DAS LIEBIG is one of the largest venues in Aachen, housed in former industrial halls. With a total area of 2,000 m², the location offers two stage areas, several bars, restrooms, and professional acoustics and lighting technology. The industrial atmosphere perfectly complements electronic music — the raw concrete and steel surfaces are a classic element of underground club culture.

Ticketing — Deliberately Accessible

  • Day Ticket: €19.50
  • Weekend/Festival Ticket: €29.50

This pricing structure is a statement — on many commercial electronic festivals, day tickets cost double or triple. astaluna aims to make it possible for as many students and young adults from Aachen and the Euregio to attend.

AStA RWTH Aachen — The Organizer

The AStA is the student representation of RWTH Aachen, one of Europe's largest technical universities. The cultural department of the AStA organizes concerts, festivals, and cultural events for the Aachen student body year-round — astaluna is its most ambitious event in a long time. Partnerships with local businesses and initiatives, as well as with Createmusic, complement the sponsorship concept.

Aachen as a Festival City

With its high proportion of students (RWTH, FH Aachen), Aachen has a vibrant club and concert scene. astaluna complements the existing offerings — Aachen's Apollo, Musikbunker, B9 — and creates a new format with a clear identity. The city, located in the tri-border area of Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands, also attracts visitors from Belgium (Liège, Verviers) and the Netherlands (Maastricht, Heerlen).
