In 2026, two birthdays coincide: the Volunteer Fire Brigade Wurzbach was founded in 1886 and celebrates 140 years, while the Wurzbach Fire Brigade Band celebrates its 70th birthday. In the small town of Wurzbach in the Saale-Orla-Kreis, both institutions are closely linked to community life — an occasion for a three-day anniversary festival.
Festival Grounds at the Fire Station
The venue is the Wurzbach Fire Station and its forecourt. From June 26 to 28, 2026, the area will be transformed into a festival mile with a marquee, stage, and catering area.

Wurzbach in the Saale-Orla-Kreis

The double anniversary in 2026 combines the tradition of the fire brigade with the musical history of the band, which has shaped community life in Wurzbach since 1956.
