About Apfelmostfest Dötlingen

The Apfelmostfest Dötlingen invites you every October to Spargelhof Ulrich on Walschenkampsweg. Organized by the Bürger- und Heimatverein Dötlingen e.V. (local heritage association), the day revolves around fresh apple cider straight from the press, regional traditional orchards (Streuobstkultur), culinary specialties, and a convivial gathering. From 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, visitors can bring their own apples for pressing, taste different apple varieties, learn more about the importance of traditional orchards, and enjoy the farm atmosphere in the Wildeshauser Geest region. After a break, the festival will return to the event calendar in 2026.

Apple Cider as a Cultural Asset of the Wildeshauser Geest

For centuries, traditional orchards have shaped the cultural landscape of the Wildeshauser Geest Nature Park. Tall apple, pear, and cherry trees not only provide fruit but also offer valuable habitats for insects, birds, and small mammals. The Apfelmostfest Dötlingen honors this landscape and ecological heritage, making it accessible to a broad audience.

Fresh Pressing at Hof Ulrich

The centerpiece is a mobile cider press where apples brought by visitors or provided on-site are processed into fresh cider. Visitors can follow the entire process from washing and grinding to pressing and taste the result immediately. Those who bring their own apples usually receive the cider from their own batch.

Program Centered Around Farm, Garden, and Sociability

In addition to pressing, the festival features variety tastings, information stands on traditional orchards and nature conservation, regional specialties made from apples and pears, coffee, cake, and a small children's program. Spargelhof Ulrich, with its rustic farm ambiance, provides an ideal setting for the event.

Return After a Break

After an interruption, the Apfelmostfest will return to the event calendar in 2026. The Bürger- und Heimatverein Dötlingen e.V. is thus once again building a bridge between heritage preservation, agricultural tradition, and current commitment to traditional orchards.

Apfelmostfest Dötlingen — edition 2026

On Saturday, October 24, 2026, the Bürger- und Heimatverein Dötlingen invites you from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM to the Apfelmostfest at Spargelhof Ulrich on Walschenkampsweg 3. After a break, the festival returns, offering freshly pressed apple cider, variety tastings, information about traditional orchards, regional specialties, and a farm atmosphere in the Wildeshauser Geest region. Free admission.

The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in late summer. The structure will follow the proven key points of previous editions: a mobile cider press operating throughout the day; a tasting stand for different varieties; information on traditional orchards; gastronomic offerings focusing on apple and farm specialties; and a family-friendly atmosphere.

Those wishing to bring their own apples should inquire with the local heritage association in advance about quantities, preparation, and the pressing process.
