Fresh apple cider straight from the press at Spargelhof Ulrich – local heritage association invites you
For centuries, traditional orchards have shaped the cultural landscape of the Wildeshauser Geest Nature Park. Tall apple, pear, and cherry trees not only provide fruit but also offer valuable habitats for insects, birds, and small mammals. The Apfelmostfest Dötlingen honors this landscape and ecological heritage, making it accessible to a broad audience.
The centerpiece is a mobile cider press where apples brought by visitors or provided on-site are processed into fresh cider. Visitors can follow the entire process from washing and grinding to pressing and taste the result immediately. Those who bring their own apples usually receive the cider from their own batch.
In addition to pressing, the festival features variety tastings, information stands on traditional orchards and nature conservation, regional specialties made from apples and pears, coffee, cake, and a small children's program. Spargelhof Ulrich, with its rustic farm ambiance, provides an ideal setting for the event.
After an interruption, the Apfelmostfest will return to the event calendar in 2026. The Bürger- und Heimatverein Dötlingen e.V. is thus once again building a bridge between heritage preservation, agricultural tradition, and current commitment to traditional orchards.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in late summer. The structure will follow the proven key points of previous editions: a mobile cider press operating throughout the day; a tasting stand for different varieties; information on traditional orchards; gastronomic offerings focusing on apple and farm specialties; and a family-friendly atmosphere.
Those wishing to bring their own apples should inquire with the local heritage association in advance about quantities, preparation, and the pressing process.
Specific information regarding quantities, delivery, and prices will be published in good time on bhv-doetlingen.de.
