About MPS Bückeburg WE 2

The second MPS weekend in Bückeburg takes place on August 1st and 2nd, 2026, directly following the first weekend of July 25th and 26th. This makes Bückeburg the only MPS venue in 2026 with two consecutive market weekends. The musical focus is on Subway to Sally and Versengold – two of the most important medieval bands on the German scene. Over 200 market stalls, knight tournaments, living history camps, jesters, and fire-eaters form the backdrop. Important information: According to the organizers, the 2026 season is the last MPS season in this format – an aspect that gives the festival a farewell character for many regular visitors. Stage performances, market stalls, living history camps, and catering fill the palace park.

Second Weekend in the Palace Park

The Bückeburg MPS reaches its climax with the second weekend. After the first weekend set the stage, the musical focus shifts to the second weekend: Subway to Sally, one of the defining bands of medieval rock since the early 1990s, returns to Bückeburg. Versengold, which has mobilized its own fanbase with its mix of German folk, medieval, and punk, is also on board. Both bands are among the weekend's crowd-pullers.

Market World and Living History Camp

The market world unfolds across over 200 stalls, presenting crafts, costumes, jewelry, blades, leather goods, and culinary delights. In the living history camp, blacksmiths, archers, spinners, and cooks embody their roles; visitors can explore the camp and talk to the participants. In between, jesters, acrobats, fire-eaters, and storytellers perform, accompanying the market activities.

Last MPS Season

According to the organizers, 2026 is the last season of the MPS in this form. For the Bückeburg market community and the regular visitors who attend the Spectaculum every year, this news is an occasion for remembrance and farewell. The second Bückeburg weekend with Subway to Sally and Versengold could thus become a special moment of this farewell season.

Set in Bückeburg

The MPS benefits from its unique location in the palace park of Bückeburg Castle. The historic backdrop, the extensive green spaces, and the infrastructural connections make Bückeburg an ideal venue. In conjunction with the first weekend and the immediately following Craft Beer Festival, a dense festival spectacle unfolds around the Bückeburg city center and the castle grounds during the summer weeks.
