About Antique & Design Market Colonnaden
Antique & Design Market Colonnaden — edition 2026
The 2026 season includes four market days between May and September. The venue is the Colonnaden in Hamburg's Neustadt (Hamburg-Mitte district) — a short street with characteristic arcades between Jungfernstieg and Stephansplatz.
The markets are designed as relaxed strolling markets: no fixed entry times, no stage lineup. You wander through, browse, strike up conversations, and discover — or go home without a purchase.

The Colonnaden — Hamburg's Homage to Southern European Elegance
The Colonnaden are a short, characteristic street between Jungfernstieg and Stephansplatz in Hamburg's Neustadt (Hamburg-Mitte district). Built in the 1870s and renovated in the 1980s, they shape the image of Hamburg's city center today with their arcades, neoclassical columns, and the shops beneath them. It is precisely here — a few steps from the Alster lake — that the Antique & Design Markets take place four times a year.
What You'll Find
The market positions itself as a destination for collectors, decoration lovers, and bargain hunters. The offerings range from old furniture to lighting and mirrors, down to small collector's items:
- Antique and vintage furniture
- Lamps and lights (often Mid-Century pieces)
- Paintings, mirrors, and wall decorations
- Jewelry — with a focus on antique pieces
- Fine porcelain, crystal, and glass
- Design objects from various eras
The City of Hamburg describes the market as known for "the wide selection of antique jewelry, fine tableware, crystal, and porcelain" — and indeed, many Hamburg residents find their favorite pieces here.
Four Dates, One Season
The market takes place annually on four dates between May and September. The stalls are partly protected under the arcades, partly set up in the pedestrian zone. The format is informal — you stroll, browse, and negotiate.
Traveling Dealers
Many exhibitors come from Northern Germany, some travel from Southern Germany or the Netherlands. This makes the assortment diverse: you'll find Hanseatic pieces alongside Bavarian country antiques, or North German marine paintings next to Dutch Delft porcelain.
Location for Strolling
Only a few steps separate the Colonnaden from Jungfernstieg, the Binnen- and Außenalster lakes, and Hamburg's main shopping street. Those who visit the market often combine it with a walk along the Alster or a coffee in one of the surrounding cafés.
