Ten days of Volksfest on the Ansbach exhibition grounds
The Ansbach Spring Festival is one of the most important Volksfests in the Middle Franconian region and kicks off the festival season in the independent city of Ansbach (Bavaria, administrative region of Middle Franconia). For over ten days, the exhibition grounds become a magnet for Volksfest enthusiasts from the city and surrounding areas. The City of Ansbach is the organizer.
Numerous attractions await visitors, including a Ferris wheel, a chain carousel, and a looping coaster, as well as many other rides for young and old. A large beer garden and the festival tent with festival beer from the Dorn brewery form the social center, complemented by market stalls and live music on most evenings.
The city relies on a proven concept with themed festival days:
New additions to the program include a Blue Light Day, a job fair in the Ferris wheel, a safe space, and new rides.
After the relocation to the exhibition grounds, the Spring Festival's previously flagging reputation has significantly improved, according to the city administration. The new, easily accessible location with free parking and connections to the city bus has given the festival new momentum.
For ten days from May 8th to 17th, 2026, the exhibition grounds will once again be transformed into the festival site of the Ansbach Spring Festival. Attractions include a Ferris wheel, a chain carousel, a looping coaster, and other rides. The large beer garden and the festival tent will serve festival beer from the Dorn brewery. The city is organizing the popular themed days: Opening with beer tapping (May 8th), Bulldog Day with tractor meeting (May 10th), Senior Day (May 11th), Family Day (May 12th), and Father's Day (May 14th). New additions include a Schafkopf tournament, a Blue Light Day, a job fair in the Ferris wheel, a safe space, and new rides.
The Spring Festival takes place on the exhibition grounds in 91522 Ansbach. For public transport, we recommend taking bus lines 731 or 751 (get off at Messezentrum). Drivers will find free parking spaces at the exhibition grounds and the sports center.
The festival runs for ten days; the festival tent opens between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. depending on the day and closes between 10 p.m. and midnight.
Entry to the festival grounds is free; costs are incurred for rides, food, and drinks.
